This Amateur Radio net operates daily
for the
purpose of collecting weather information throughout Oregon. In
addition,
some stations check in from the states of California, Idaho and
Washington.
The information is forwarded, by computer, to the National Weather
Service
in Portland, OR.
The net opens at 8:00 AM (early check-ins begin at 7:30) on or about the frequency of 3990 Khz. During times of national, state or local emergency, the net will operate in conjunction with the State RACES Net on a frequency of 3993.5 Khz. Roll call is taken by an alphabetical listing of Oregon counties. |
